Join Cathy Kavassalis, passionate gardener and conservationist, to learn about plants that benefit our local biodiversity. You'll learn about the benefits of native plants and the consequences of introducing non-native plants, particularly in our warming climate. Get inspired as we explore how we can makes better choices in our yards to help safeguard nature. Cathy Kavassalis is a passionate gardener and conservationist. A scientist, educator, and inspirational speaker, Cathy endeavors to stimulate interest and awe in the living world. She is the co-founder of the Coalition for Invasive Plant Regulation, a member of the Halton Master Gardeners group, a past president of the Oakville Horticultural Society, and a former member of the Board of Directors for the Royal Botanical Garden. Cathy is working to remove invasive plants and improve the health of the land in her care in Seguin, Ontario.
